About

Hi. I'm Mac Baler.
Learn 'bout me.

Just a knowledge-hungry bilingual Software Engineer floating through space-time. Spent a handful of years working in Japan, garnering experience spanning full-stack; but am now back in the states, working @ HubSpot in the Boston area.Capable, efficient, inquisitive, precise, adaptable, collaborative, trustworthy, and a quick learner, with solid interpersonal skills.
Full-stack technical skills result from having been thrown right into the deep end from the start. Proficiences include (but not limited to) server-side jazz: Node.js, Express, REST API, Java, bit of Spring & NGINX; frameworks: React.js, Vue.js, & Redux; build tools: Webpack, Babel, Gulp, & Jenkins; front-facing elements: JavaScript (ES6+), HTML/Pug, SASS/CSS Modules, & Bootstrap; testing tools: Jest, Mocha, Sinon, Jasmine, & Enzyme; and everything in between: SQL, Docker, Socket.io, npm, Git/GitHub, WebRTC/MediaStream API, & Firebase Realtime DB. Eager to both deepen existing proficiencies & fill in the cracks with new ones!

Projects

Some little ditties of mine.

WebRTC Device Checker

Created while working at Weblio in Japan. Helps users test & troubleshoot their video/audio devices, as well as video/audio bandwidth settings. Allowed preemptive test of setup before entering online lesson room. Utilized a fork of PeerJS and manipulated the MediaStream API to create a WebRTC video call with oneself.
